PRIDE!!! That´s the word on my mind right now, after another CVRVV (Vinhos Verdes Comission) prize contest, yesterday at the beautiful Minho city of Braga. Quinta de Gomariz have won two more prizes to enlarge their already extensive prize list, although they are a very young winerie. The first one to win was the Loureiro 2008, selected as one of the "Best Of" prizes (only two wines were considered Best Of), and one of the three wines that Vinixá and Gomariz are preparing to export to the USA, to our importer and friend Michael Grisley of P.R. Grisley Co (www.prgrisley.com). Soon Gomariz wines we´ll be at the stores in the States of Pennsilvannya and Utah. The other´s to be exported are the Alvarinho and the Espadeiro (rose). The other prize (Gold Medal) was for the Colheita Seleccionada (a blend) as the best White Vinho Verde!!
This was the first time ever, that an event of this kind was transmited live in TV, in this case at the public TV, RTP 1, and thanks to the CVRVV dynamic this was undoutably a great help for all the producers of this magnificent region. As for Quinta de Gomariz, we at Vinixá are very proud of knowing how to select our partners, and we are very excited and motivated to continuing to spread the word about Gomariz fantastic wines, that we want to take to the 4 corners of the world. A final word for our partner´s staff, Hélder Queirós for its dynamic and perseverance, for Mr. Manuel, owner and a man of great vision, and of course to the oenologist, responsible for these great wines.
